A thigh lift is a cosmetic surgery that pulls and tightens the skin of the upper thigh usually after liposuction first to remove excess fat and tissue. Individuals who have lost weight rapidly are candidates who will benefit highly from the surgery. Often a thigh lift is combined with a body lift or other type of procedure. Before accepting any surgeries though, be sure your plastic surgeon is highly qualified and has been board certified. The surgical center where he practices should be accredited as well. Don’t settle on less or you may jeopardize your life.

At your first appointment, your plastic surgeon will go over all the important items such as what to expect. You will be advised of the anesthesia, risks, complications and bleeding if any you can expect  after the cosmetic plastic surgery procedure. The cost for a thigh lift may run between $3,500 and $4,000. Most surgeons will accept a partial payment and monthly payments from then on. On the morning of your surgery, your thighs will be marked with a drawing pen. This is where your surgeon will cut to remove fat and excess skin. He will be sure to minimize scarring by folding the skin into the groin area.

The recovery time for a thigh lift isn’t long at all, usually about two weeks, although you can go back to work after one week. It is advised to not walk around a lot to prevent more scarring. The less weight on the legs the better for recovery. The thigh lift is permanent, and will allow your pants to fit much better afterward. Wearing a bathing suit will give you much more confidence now that the sagging skin has been removed forever.
